The Fairer Fee Forum (FFF)

The Fairer Fee Forum has been established with the purpose of obtaining a fair fee for the independent social care providers, namely Residential Care, Nursing and Domiciliary.

The issue of lack of funding in the independent social care sector has been around for many years and the endless debates and consultations have not provided a solution for the under funding.

The current funding rates are grossly disproportionate to the actual true cost of providing that care. There have been financial models produced to provide a clear indication of the true cost of providing this care. These models have been presented to the PCTs and Local Authorities many times in the last decade but have always been dismissed without a plausible explanation.

This issue of under funding affects every organisation in the social care sector, from the single care homes to national corporate groups and not-for-profit voluntary organisations and associations.

The funding is provided by Central Government to the Primary Care Trusts (PCTs). Legislation allows the PCT to create a partnership agreement with the Local Authority. The Local Authority would then enter into service agreement contracts with independent providers to provide care services.

Systematic representation of the contractual agreements in force to provide services.
